Hitit Series 50% Wool 50% Jute Handwoven Traditional Anatolian Living Room Rug – Beige (Natural Jute)
The Hitit Series Handwoven Rug is a special collection that brings traditional weaving culture into modern living spaces. Made from a 50% wool and 50% jute blend, this rug consists of 100% natural materials. Combining the warmth of wool with the natural character of jute, it adds a simple yet distinctive character to areas such as living rooms, sitting rooms, and bedrooms. This variant features a warm beige base with golden jute threads woven into it, creating a natural beige tone.
What Are Wool and Jute?
Wool and jute are two natural fibers obtained from nature. Wool is a warm, flexible, and durable animal fiber obtained from sheep. Jute is a strong, naturally textured plant fiber obtained from the stems of the jute plant. In the Hitit Series, 50% wool and 50% jute come together to offer both the softness and warmth of wool and the natural, earthy texture of jute, creating a breathable, healthy, and traditional foundation. The naturally crimped structure of wool fibers gives the rug softness and sound-absorbing properties, while the high tensile strength of jute fibers helps the rug retain its shape for years. Compared with synthetic rugs, the combination of these two natural fibers provides a more natural experience and a healthier feel in indoor spaces.
Hitite and Anatolian Heritage
The Hittites were an ancient people who established a powerful civilization in Anatolia between approximately 1650 and 1180 BC, with their capital at Hattusa (near present-day Çorum). One of Anatolia’s oldest cultures, the Hittites left their mark on history with their rich motifs and symbols. The Hitit Series draws inspiration from this ancient Anatolian heritage and traditional weaving culture, bringing this deep-rooted aesthetic into modern living spaces through its simple, natural, and timeless lines.

How Should the Hitit Rug Be Cleaned?
Hitit Series wool and jute rugs should only be cleaned by dry cleaning. Since jute fiber is sensitive to water, washing at home, cleaning with large amounts of water, or soaking is not recommended; this helps preserve the rug’s shape and natural texture. For daily care, a vacuum cleaner with low suction can be used. In case of liquid spills, treat the affected area quickly and locally with a slightly damp cloth.

Protect Your Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven and natural-fiber creations that add value to your living space for generations, you should adopt a careful maintenance routine.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth and never rubbing, gently blot the liquid from the surface. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural lay of the fibers). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If you are unsure, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuum cleaners and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural fibers to light and prevent localized tone differences (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Noble materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.
