Woolstar Wool-Blend Sweater-Pattern Handwoven Knit Rug – Anthracite (Plain Knit)
The Woolstar Collection features a special range of sweater-pattern handwoven knit rugs made from a blend of wool, viscose, and cotton. Handwoven with care, these rugs create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The folded-edge finish provides a sturdy construction, while the pile-free knit weave offers both durability and elegance. Weighing 3000 g/m², this is a high-quality rug built to last. This variant is a simple plain-knit rug in a deep anthracite shade, with a distinctive knitted texture.
What Are Wool, Viscose, and Cotton?
Woolstar rugs are blend rugs woven from a combination of wool, viscose, and cotton fibers. Wool is a natural, warm, flexible, and durable animal fiber that regulates heat and retains its shape for years. It also helps maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the seasons, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Cotton, a natural plant fiber, adds softness and a smooth surface to the weave. Viscose is a fiber made from wood cellulose and derived from a natural source (regenerated cellulose); it adds a silky softness and a subtle sheen to the surface. Together, these three fibers create a rug that combines the warmth and strength of wool, the softness of cotton, and the silky texture of viscose for a comfortable rug full of character. With its natural, warm texture, Woolstar is an ideal choice for those who love cozy, natural interiors.
What Is a Sweater-Pattern Knit Rug?
A sweater-pattern knit rug is a pile-free rug woven by interlocking loops, much like a hand-knitted sweater. Because its looped construction follows the same principle as traditional hand knitting, it is sometimes also called a hand-knitted rug. The knit loops create a distinctive surface texture, giving the rug both a warm, inviting look and a soft feel. Since it has no pile, it does not shed and retains its shape over time in low- to medium-traffic living spaces. Different surface patterns can be created using various knitting techniques, including plain knit, diamond, bobble, and chunky cable. In the Woolstar Collection, the knit weave combines with the natural texture of the wool-viscose-cotton blend to create a warm, understated foundation suited to Scandinavian and natural decor styles.

How Do You Clean a Wool-Viscose-Cotton Knit Rug?
The viscose fiber in the blend is a naturally derived (regenerated) cellulose fiber that is sensitive to water and excessive moisture. Woolstar Collection handwoven wool-viscose-cotton blend knit rugs should therefore only be cleaned by professional rug-cleaning companies. Machine washing, washing at home with detergent, and wet cleaning are not recommended. For everyday care, use a vacuum cleaner with low suction and gently dab any stains with a slightly damp cloth. Gently vacuuming between the knit loops removes dust while helping the rug retain its natural texture and shape for a long time.
Add natural warmth, the inviting feel of a knitted texture, and understated elegance to your living spaces with the Woolstar anthracite plain-knit handwoven sweater-pattern rug in a wool-viscose-cotton blend. Protect Its Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven creations made with natural fibers—which add value to your living space—for generations, a careful care routine is essential.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid spills, timing is critical. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, blot the liquid gently from the surface without rubbing. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use a vacuum cleaner with low suction. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance how natural yarns react to light and prevent uneven changes in color (fading), we recommend rotating your rug every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Fine textures such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For a thorough clean, seek help only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
